BROWN!

It was a jaw-dropping visit to the Billy Holiday Theatre located in New York!

We had no idea the powerful mind travel that was at hand...

You could almost hear Billy Holiday singing in the carter...the images of these brown paper bags stung your soul like Billy's voice... There was a loud silence.... The energy was humbling at the same time tenor octives screamed alound in your heart...

Perhaps the most prolific aspect is that all this was echoing from ART & MEMORIES loosely hanging off the wall... The art just sort of grew out of nowhere... It was as if old memories attached to silence had finally reach a place to cry out...

And they were able to do it... here at the Billy Holiday Thearter...

So growing up in the harsh climate of American while being "Black" gave birth to many scarring psyhological horrific perspectives. Much of this stemming from the ill pressures that white America placed on Black America to "fit in" with white culture. In fitting in with white culture of course the first thing you would need to be is WHITE in skintone... So here started the "Brown Paper Bag Test". The Brown Paper Bag Test was a mental rule that stated that in order to be consider of good nature you had to be lighter in complexion than a Brown Paper bag... extremely heart-breaking...

But it appears as if the ancestors have a way of showing up... they were able to allow for the community to sort of purge itself through art. What a beautiful collective movement! How very special. The unity display here was beyond SUPER! At the end of the day, it shows we really do love one another and all sincerely seek to heal. We all ready to get rid of white interest and finally embrass our cultural interest... starting with embrassing OUR LOVELY SKIN...

Sometimes the ancestors just have there way....
