Here are some snippets of the conversation that was shared on the controversial topic on: "Shopping Exclusively Black" -
Kierra - " I love shopping at Target and I always get really good deals at Walmart, so it's really hard for me to shop exclusively Black..." Merku - " I love getting a good deal too, but I cant stand the way big businesses just come into our neighbourhoods pay us the bare minimum, and then give nothing back to the neighbourhoods. You would think that they would at least donate a community playground... With knowing knowledge like this it becomes really hard for me to shop at a Walmart or Target..." Perry - "We are completely out of gas on sharing our wealth as Black people. I think the little pennies that we have as a Black community absolutely have to be shared exclusively within because of the economic times that we live in. Sure it would be nice to share and shop with multiple communities but we really have to be honest with our selves and admit WHAT IS WORKING FOR US. There are so many successful communities out there and if we pay close attention to the methods that they are using, they predominantly only spend within their own cultures." Shawn - " I totally disagree.. I have to be selfish these days and times and shop where ever and with whoever is convenient for me. Sure it's nice to dream but reality is another subject. Unfortunately, I have to be selfish. It may put me into a deeper poverty ditch that I can't see right now, but I have to live for right now honestly...
Hmmmmm... Steamy conversation... What do you think? Do you shop exclusively Black?
