We've Conducted a Survey in 14 Different Cities Across North America and Compiled The 8 Top MUST Customers Look for When Shopping:
Customers Say They Look for Honesty within the Salesperson - We've all ran across that annoying salesperson that thinks that we are not onto the fact that they are just trying to make a sale...blah... blah... Our studies actually show that customers actually buy faster when they feel the sales person is being totally HONEST with them.
Customers Look For Peace While Shopping - The other very bothersome aspect to shopping is being bombarded by sales people who follow you around the store. Customers seek peace while shopping. Many of us find shopping to be a pleasurable time. After working all week, shopping becomes one of those things that kind of relieves our stress. It creates a euphoric escape. So it's really valuable to obtain that peaceful mood so that small & local shops can add to their customers shopping experience.
Customers Seek Unique Items - In every city in which we conducted our survey it was conclusive that shoppers sought after unique items. Shoppers seem to feel that if they find a unique piece it allowed them to stand out! Standing out was very important amongst many customers.
Customers Demand A Great Fit - There seem to be many complaints about clothing, in particular, NOT FITTING. Customers want clothing that fits to their shape. Many seem to agree that it's hard to find clothes that truly fit.
Customers Say They Look For Fair Prices - These days it seems many shops can lead their price points with their EGO!! Their EGO driven prices runs customers out the door! Fortunately or Unfortunately, customer were not interested in spending big bucks with small shops. Many spoke out about the overhead being low for small shops do to online sells, so they do not agree that the prices should be so high without any overhead (online).
Customers Look For A Fair Return Policy - many customers are turned off with the, "once you buy it - it's yours", tactics. It definitely can come across as scam-ish and overall can be uncomfortable for both salespersons and customers. A great return policy is JUST and increase TRUST adding to awesome sales!
Customers Seek A Friendly Experience - Hospitality seemed to be a priority for customers. Many say they refuse to shop with companies that aren't friendly any more. It can't hurt to be friendly toward a person who is feeding your company with their dollars. It's only fair to treat your customers with the highest regard. All energy is interchangeable. What you put out is what you get back. So putting in lots of love is necessary in order to gain customers.
Customers Say They Appreciate Discounts - Once again, shopping is a euphoric experience for many of us. So getting discounts on products is like finding a hidden treasure and it truly adds to an exciting shopping experience! When customers have a great experience they are psychology more plugged into your business. This is great for both the salesperson and customer. Finding treasures are what we all truly desire!
